The Kiwi contingent that is taking part in the Volvo Ocean Race is increasing and the latest Kiwi to enter the fray is Bianca Cook.
She has joined the Turn the Tide on Plastic team and will start her venture into the new offshore racing from October22. This is when the Volvo Ocean Race will be kicking off. With this addition, the Turn the Tide on Plastic team has 10 sailors on board. They are a very youthful team.
The 28-year-old Aucklander is very happy to take part in the Volvo Ocean Race and has impressed her team during the trials. This led to them signing her on board and she is also joined by Irish Olympian Annalise Murphy. The skipper of the Turn the Tide on Plastic team Caffari is very happy with these two new additions. She is hoping that the new additions will help the crew and also add more strength to the team. (more…)
